Film & TV is a highly technical medium and using the cameras and lights is a creative job. The training of a cameraperson involves understanding the potential of the equipment as well as developing an artistic bent of mind during the training.

Students absorb the technical and creative demands of cinematography for television, feature, documentary, advertising or music videos. They gain a thorough proficiency with our certificate course in cinematography.

The course is divided in three modules. Each module will end up with practical project and theoretical exam, divided in 50 + 50 + 100 marks.

The Syllabus includes:-

  • History of image making,
  • B&W and Colour photography,
  • Image processing,
  • Digital photography,
  • Composition & visual aesthetics,
  • Individual still photography project,
  • Video technology and basic principle,
  • Digital video & HD cameras with practical,
  • Introduction of exposure meter, gray card, filter & other accessories in motion picture photography,
  • Lighting practical followed by - basic - realistic - glamour - dramatic lighting approach with high key & low key,
  • Individual video projects.
  • Cinema orientation (Indian cinema, world cinema)
  • Camera movement in motion picture followed by classic films example,
  • Demonstration of film camera, raw stock & motion picture lab,
  • Interaction / workshops with guest cinematographers (worked in latest films )
  • Visiting professional studio / set in Mumbai.

ELIGIBILITY: Minimum Eligibility is 10th Pass or Equivalent levels of Education.
